I've just bought some Dunlop scootsmarts and I have some scootRS tubeless rims , so can I fit them myself ( I have acquired some big tyre levers ) or should I leave it to the experts ?

This was only discussed a week or so back, it was in relation to SIP Alloy rims but I would think the ScooRs ones would be the same. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4979&start=20

I had to get the 2nd (51P)one inflated at the local tyre depot as my electric 12v pump wasn't man enough but did work with the stiffer 59J.

to pop it onto the bead tighten a ratchet strap round the tyre remove the valve and then it can be inflated with a foot pump when it pops remove the pump and swiftly put the valve back in remove strap and inflate as normal

I tried that method myself but had no success mainly due to the ratchet mechanism distorting the tyre just at the point where it was starting to squeeze. I tried stuffing wet tissue into the gaps as well as some tyre slime but all to no avail. Too scarred to try the butane and match method on utube lol.

Once you have done one, it is easy, I spent an hour or so on the first SIP rim chasing the bead round the rim before I hit on the idea of using the ratchet clamp to hold it the tyre still relative to the rim. It was only a few minutes from there and the second one went on straight away.

I remember highlighting the ScootRS guy in flip flops a couple of years ago on this forum and somebody said he was fitting 11 inch tyres on to 10 inch rims..lol
