paint ????

Hi, I am getting ready to send my Li/3 125 to the painter. should the ends of the wheel studs be painted? I was going to mask the whole stud off. Looking at my TV it looks as the tips of the studs are painted. I don't know if this matters or not. Trying to go all original. The pictures shows the wheel primed. I hoping to avoid having to use a die to clean them off after painting.

Thanks

I would wrap the studs with masking tape.

That's what I do but very often the paint cracks off when fitting the nut. Keep some touch up. ;)

okay, now I'm confused. wrap the studs with tape, but then second post says have some touchup paint.
So are we going to paint the tip of the studs or not? If we are going to keep the tip painted i will leave that part exposed. Sorry to be a pain but the answers contradict.

Thanks

What I did is put shrink tube on the studs. It holds nice and will come off with a small cut of a blade. if i need to leave the tips exposed i can easily do that.

I believe the tips of the studs should be painted.
