Upright Stand

Hi, The stand on my GP sits almost vertical ... not good as a slight push from behind will knock it over.
This is the 2nd one that does it..

is the only answer to reweld the lugs at a slightly different angle?

I had to cut both lugs down :shock:

Just sit on it a few times on the stand, they'll soon bend.

The stand should be almost vertical, see page 169 Sticky's book.

think i'll apply some heat and bend the tabs a bit.....

mudwing washers between the u-bracket and outrigger will gain you a few degrees, try 2 each side at first rather than heat treatment.

I've never heard them called that before (thank you Google) I've always called them Penny Washers..... :)

i was just being an anorak Digger :)
penny washer is about the size of a penny (no surprise there) but for this job a bigger diameter might be better to spread the load more even if it means cutting a flat on it.

Peejay is what you would call "old" as he used to race horse drawn scooter sidecars @, wait for it, Scooter only racing events!

You get to a certain age & think in Roman numerals so nobody knows how old he is, for sure.

You'd probably have to chop off a limb & count the rings...... ;)
