Acewell MD52 353 Digital Speedo

Postby Knowledge » Wed Mar 16, 2016 10:05 pm

I have an Acewell speedo and it is a good bit of kit. I'm likely to buy another.

Mine has a fuel gauge, but the version listed has a temperature gauge instead. Has anyone got any experience of an Acewell with a temperature gauge. Can it work with an exhaust temperature gauge, or just one of those cylinder head temperature sensors? What is the range of the gauge?

I know I could ask the seller, but I'm interested to hear your experience of the operation of this feature.

I've had an Acewell for a few years now and it came with a water temp sensor which I didn't use. Someone told me I could set it into the cylinder head and it would still work, so after fitting it I then found out the speedo only has a limited temp range so looks like I may have wasted my time. I remember asking when I bought the unit from Quadtech if there was an air cooled sensor available but seem to think there wasn't along with an EGT sensor.

That was kind of what I anticipated Wack. I think I will stick with the version with the fuel gauge version. If I get an exhaust temp sensor, I will use a gauge specifically for it.

Thanks

I'd recommend the Stage 6 EGT with a Chinese made sensor off Ebay. The Stage 6 probe is too short and tends to break easily.

Thanks Wack.

How far down the pipe is your sensor mounted?

I always set them 100 mm from the piston skirt Martin.
