STRIPPED EXHAUST STUD HOLE - IDEAS

Hi All

Just noticed on my LI that the top exhaust casing stud is missing. On closer examination the casing thread is stripped and I can't get a new stud to bite.

My question: - is there any easy repair that doesn't involve taking out the engine, welding or specialist tools? i.e. oversized stud etc

MBD list a stepped repair stud, MBP 0392 @£5.65p. You will need to drill and tap to 10mm but this could be done in situ. Remove footboard and silencer and chaincase.

Paul.

Helicoil back to M8.

I have the kit & Coventry is not a million miles away from Warkton.

But you may be able to borrow the kit more locally.

I hope that helps.
