series one forks help help help

Postby jacktheripper » Sun May 08, 2016 8:31 pm

Hi all i have just started putting my forks back in and im confused, i have put the bearings in then the first part at the top which sits on top of the cage bearings, then i realised there is no groove for the washer type part so i left it off, i then put the fixing top piece on and then tried to put on the metal bracket on that holds the bottom of headset but it does not fit on, can anyone help please

Have you put the lower bearings balls up?

thats really good of you, i have spoken to a couple of dealers today and they have comfirmed that the series one does not have the groove in the top of forks and they never had a locking washer, im going to have to locktite the top nut i suppose.
