You can use a light to test a feed, one end on the regulator output, other to earth. You can send a current down the loom with a battery or battery charger and use the light at the other end to check you've the right wires. Sometimes it's just trial and error.
Make sure the horn is the right type, 12/ 6v ac / Dc etc

have you changed your loom?
Not sure what your 12v was, or if you have a battery - but mine is a Casatronic and i fitted mine as simply as possible, no battery - I retained my 'standard' L3 125 loom but upgraded it to a two wire brake switch by running in an extra wire-
Everything non-ignition, on mine, comes from the yellow wire (AC Lighting output), so the yellow wire from stator went into the regulator box and everything else (lights and brake light and horn) were soldered together onto one brass bullet connector that was matched to the output that corresponded to the yellow input.
worked for me. sometimes the connectors need pushing in.
failing that test meters are cheap! I use mine a lot to check earths Etc. - Andrew

A cheap, but useable, multimeter will cost less than a fiver........i'd also buy a "Stickey's" manual (about £20) which contains all common wiring diagrams.
