Hub serviceable??

Following the debate about what actually secures the hub and is it just down to the cone and correct torque. This hubs been at the back of my garage cos I thought it was paggered.....
Can I, would you use this ????

If that was 'all' that was wrong, the conical surface & proper, hard cone were well matched via lapping in, then I would give it a go.

I can take no responsibility for your decision, actions or competence so don’t come running to me if you fall off & break both legs! :roll:

I strongly recommend that you torque it up, & fix the locking plate & run it a few miles cautiously as it is an old hub in any case.

Then I would remove it just to test that the ‘fit’ had been maintained & carefully examine every aspect of it.

If all seemed well, I would then re-fit it & run it.

It was off a 62 Spanish S2 that I restored, I was fascinated by the debate around cone fit and torque. Instead of throwing it away I'll keep it as a spare.

Of course I won't come back to you WT, but I am pleased you commented - ta
