Tank Straps

Postby eyeguy » Sat Jun 04, 2016 4:25 am

Help, Lambretta restoration guide says to paint tank straps body color from 1963. Mine is a Li 123/3 1962. what color should they be?

Thanks

Years ago I had a '62 Li150 series 3. It came with the felt pads under the straps. Just thought I'd mention it if you're looking to keep it original. Scootopia sell them:

"Scootopia Lambretta series 1 & 2 petrol tank strap gasket set (15070012)". They'll make it harder to fit the straps though!

Thanks Storkfoot, I am trying to keep original. I will look at the felt pads.
I am looking at the HT coil mounting now. I am confused as to which mounting I should use. One shows the long screws with spacers and one with anti vibration pad. do you know which would have been used for that model? I can' find the long screws it needs. I am referring to my TV 175 as i go along as I was told all the screws and things would be the same. I am finding there are some variations.

Anti vibration pad was on mine. Personally, I wouldn't get too hung up about every last detail. You will find that these early S3s share quite a few characteristics with S2s. Four pole stator for example.

Hmmh, you have me thinking. I know I have had black straps before but I can't recall whether they were on my early S3, or not.

Well, I must admit that's what Scootopia say anyway. :D

Thanks Dimetrios, I did not see that. You are right. Now I have to send the black ones back.

Keep them if you have a 62 model.
