Posting for a mate, see info I got sent
Hiya pal
Bought a s1 headset top n bottom from India, toying with converting a series 2
It's arrived and it's like a seesaw when it's together. When I tighten one side down it leaves a big gap on the other side, as if the top or bottom is bent/warped
Wonder if there's anything I can do to make it fit better
Cheers

I suppose it might be possible to heat it and pull it flat somehow. But you'd really need to find someone who knows about that sort of thing. Where are you?

Do you think that screwdriver might not be up to it ?
Sorry couldn't resist.
Could you relieve some of the metal just above and to the left of the ignition kill cutout. It looks like it might go down a little bit further. What a wind up though !

My API one was a bad fit and I was able to file other areas to compensate and let it drop where it needed but it wasn't as bad as that.
Might have to consider cutting and welding the ends to "drop" them, which wouldn't be too difficult for a good Ali welder
Give it to Ferdy just mind he doesn't drop the bottom and add some upside down motorbike parts !
Tell him to KTP........
