I've noticed that the 300mm Escort Shocks advertised for Series 3 are of the 'changed' design, where as the 310mm Escort Shocks (both of which I've been selling through the Club Shop and sourced through SR) are of the original design.
I bought an Escort shock in 2010 for my TS1, and it's still on today. So I'm in agreement with you that I've never had this apparent recent issue with this 'bolt and nut' arrangement
