Good point.
Rear, my desire for a effective rear brake is becoming an obsession.

I always think the key is bedding the brakes in properly. I never use new pads harshly, just let them rub lightly and come to a halt slowly. Easier said than done, I know. But my back brake is a stopper and I can lock the hub up.

Suppose it's got to be a new hub really. The chance of getting a decent original are probably hit and miss. The Scootopia hub is said to be very good, but I think they're sold out. Otherwise you're probably looking at something like a Uni hub.

If you want good brakes the shoes are as important as the hub. When I fitted my engine Jarv @ Lambretta Rehab used a tool that look like a hub that shaves the shoes down to true level so there are no high or low spots. The rear brakes are brilliant.
