I've just picked up an Italian engine with varitonic electronic ignition.
I've fitted it to my 1960 early S2

It's clear that the brown wire from the original loom connects to terminal 3 of the 12 rectifier (stickys book p281) but what about the purple wire from the loom? Does this connect to terminal 3 too ( I presume it's also a power feed?)

Join the brown with the purple to make a common wire.
