Throttle cable length

Afternoon forum people ;-)

Stupid question maybe, but are there 2 different length throttle cables for the series 3 125 special ?

I brought a 'cable set' as the restoration was progressing, now on coming to fit it the throttle seems way too long, as a guesstimate by approx 4 inches ?

Puzzled

Any ideas ?

You do get longer cables for right hand side carb exits but if you haven't changed the manifold / carb set up , just put it at the side of the old outer cable take out the inner and cut to length put the chrome nipple back on with a dab of glue n re crimp , I've just taken about 3 inches of a set of BGM cables !

Thanks for the heads up regards length ;-)

The carb and manifold are as standard, the problem now is that the original cable and outer were missing when I had the scoot so I have nothing to compare them to :-(

Pity that someone hasn't thought of creating an 'inner & outer cable length guide' for all possible known scenarios haha

Any idea of the length it should be ?

TIA

I've got one of the long ones on at the minute and it's well longer than an extra 4 inches but doesn't seem to affect the throttle , as long as it's ruted properly it should be fine , but I'm sure one of the experts will give you some advice shortly the gear cables outer's were to long on my Gp cables so cut em back as per originals !!
