Hi All,
I sent my stator away to get it refurbed. New pick up and LT coil. Full new stator loom. All soldered joints sealed. Proper crimps. 2 . When i got it back and all set up and put my strobe on @ 19 btdc I gave it a bit of revs, and the timing mark goes all over the place, any ideas please.
Cheers

Typical of a A/F light-weight flywheel, stator pick-ups not in line with magnets on flywheel.
I had to have 2mm machined deeper into the Mag-housing where the stator sits.
Could still be same problem with other flywheels, MBD stators are supplied with packers to help line-up but they will only raise the stator.

You can remove the laminates from under the pick up if it's too high.

The current market for electronic ignition is imho crap, to many variables, I've seen top end marketed ignitions -advance/ retard, when they should remain static, low tensions burn out for allegedly running the wrong flywheel , pick up alignment, etc, etc, go vari/casa tronic, or other reputable systems, don't believe the hype with the latest V 28 of the latest best kits available.
