Hi...
running a 185 casa kit on a series 2
It's got a scootopia SH2/22 carb
When the throttle is fully open the operating lever on top of the carb fouls the bottom of the airbox.(only slightly)
The carb needs to be further away from the cylinder,as the airbox is actually indented to accommodate this so really needs a slightly longer inlet manifold
Were there different lengths available??

I am in the middle of rebuilding the engine from my S2 with the same kit and carb. The engine isn't in the bike so can't be sure if I will hit the same issue however I have an inlet from Rayspeed that had A.F.R on the top and the spigot that goes into the carb is longer than the collar is deep (if that makes sense). This might give you that little bit extra clearance. It's on their website as an inlet manifold for 22/26mm carbs for use on small block engines.

Is this only an issue because there is no weight (rider) on the scooter? Will it be OK when ridden?

You can rotate the carb so it's level when you're sitting on it, that may provide enough clearance. Or can you pull the carb out a bit? If it's too long, it'll foul the side panel.

Did you fasten the two allen bolts that hold the air box and the scoop at the top before tightening the bottom nut. This may lift the air box just enough to clear the top of the carb.
EDIT Or fit a series 3 shocker, there a little bit shorter.
