Just brought a Jet 200 and it looks like the front wheel is tilting to the left when looking from the front. Rides ok but veers ver much right when freewheeling with not hands on bars. Nuts and washers seem to be seated properly. Any ideas welcome!

Hi Draghart,
If it was me I would remove dampers and see if it still tilted.( dampers could be seizing) If was tilting with dampers removed you could have bent "piston" rods ,uneven springs or binds in the fork links.Might be a good time to replace the rubber bumpers and grease the springs and rods.
I bought a jet 200 on Friday

It could be the bottom buffers. If one side is worn or has come off,it could lean that way until weight is put on the forks.

I had the same problem with my series 2 -- I would recommend just going for a fork strip down -- I went round the houses looking at everything then noticed that the forks were bent -- couldn't see the wood for the tree's. Wasted time & money, look for the obvious 1st would be my advice but save yourself a lot of time & strip them out to get a good look.
Mine failed an MOT after replacing the rubbers / springs & rods in the old forks -- had to replace everything again -- Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the replies.
I've not done a fork strip down before, but sure I can get it sorted. Can it be done with the forks still in the frame or will I need to drop them out??
Cheers
Mark

It can be done, but its much harder.Which ever way you strip them you will need a fork spring compressor.
If you haven't already got one,buy a workshop manual,Sticky's complete spanner's manual in my opinion is the best,it gives you a complete guide to stripping and re-building your forks, including photos.
