Evening all I have a gp which I bought last summer it is Italian and had already been gone through all I had to do was mot it and register it which was done without a problem. Before I use it this summer on a regular basis I am putting some sip tubless rims on.Front no problems. I have just taken the rear hub of no problem getting it off in fact it came off easier than expected it feels very light in weight and it doesn't have any manufacturers names or numbers on at all I am a bit concerned about the quality of it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As far as I'm concerned there all decent rear hubs EXCEPT Ramp hubs, they're reputed to be downright dangerous,so bad in fact some dealers grind off the name.So if you find a rear hub with no makers name and an oblong box with the makers name(which should be in the oblong)ground off, dont use it because it could be a Ramp hub.
EDIT This is a Ramp hub

Just checked the hub for grinding marks and its all clean. Had a look at stickys book and it matches the one for a gp with a double lip and no recess for locking ring and is correct for weight. Still would have thought it would be marked innocenti somewhere.

If your unsure .....buy a new one? .....I bought a Scootopia one for my GP ....looks a quality bit of kit and reasonable price..funny you saying felt light .....some years ago I changed my rear hub on my SX it was a Fa Italian one that I took off .....I replaced it with a Tino Safe hub .....the new hub was half a kilo heavier than the old one ....that's more than five years ago maybe even longer .....still on there ...another quality bit of kit ...I do probably 2.500 to 3.500 miles year by the way ..

If its a hub for a GP,unless its an Italian GP hub it wont have the innocenti mark on it,its more likely to be an Indian hub but the Indian GP hub usually has the SIL logo stamped on it,the SIL logo is an"S"in a circle.
