When fitting the horncast, do most of you:

1. Fit horncast to mudguard first then onto leggies; or
2. Fit horncast to leggies then mudguard; or
3. Fit mudguard to leggies then horncast?

And what's the best way to keep rubbers attached when fitting parts? Glue? Tape?

Any help would be appreciated.

I found the following to be the best method when rebuilding mine.

1) I used contact adhesive to glue the rubbers in place. Only a small amount at intervals so that the rubbers could be removed and repositioned if necessary.
2) Fitted the horn casting loosely.
3) Fitted the mudguard loosely.
4) Attached the mudguard to the horn casting loosely.
5) Tightened all of the nuts/screws to obtain the best possible fit.

I fitted the horncast to the mudguard then fitted the whole lot to the legshields.

My horncast is a bit distorted though and needs widening to fit the mudguard. Doing it with the mudguard in place is pretty awkward.

The way I looked at it is that if the horncast and mudguard are together there's only the legshields to scratch, rather than fitting it individually and scratching each bit.

I've got to replace the horn now - Can I do that just by removing the horn cover or does the whole horncasting come off?
