Osam switch refurb.

My Osam dip/dazzle/horn switch is what feels to be in need of some lubrication. I have soaked the whole switch in wd, but still feels a bit notchy. If I were to drill the hollow type rivets out would I be able to lube the rockers with something like petroleum jelly? Would I then be able to actually put the switch back together? Are the hollow rivets available etc.
Thanks.

When you take it to bits,be careful or springs and ball bearings will fly in all directions.

Sorry for the late/slow response, but even I have done this modification....

The spring is a coiled one that fits in a hole in the actual rocker, so is easily re-fitted. Take it apart in a transparent bag if you're worried about losing bits. The switches are very simple, mechanically.

I managed to re-use the hollow rivets but if you did 'screw up' I would imagine that those shoe eyelets you can buy would do the job. Remember that the screws that hold the thing on will add to any 'integrity'

BTW Vaseline was the lube of choice ;)
