Hi peeps, does ahyone know where I can get a very soft/flexible gp air bellows. I am running the new lth left hand side ts1 manifold with a casa air bellows but the panel keeps coming off ( once down the toad/ once held on by the rear spring clip but off the front). I can only think that the movement of bellows rubbing on panel is lifting it off. Any other suggestions gratefully received!!

Your panels must be a poor fit mate if that's the case. Take runner board off and get underneath to see if bellows touch. What about a Breathe Sweet filter? What carb have you?

if you want a soft one then some of the indian ones are like that, however

a) the fuel soon decomposes them as they are so crap and you have then too much air entering and you will seize

and

b) if you think squeezing the air filter elbow is a good idea, it aint

You are between a rock & a hard place:

If you go to the 'very-soft-as-sh1te' Indian bellows, they will almost certainly collapse under the strong induction from your engine. (To be frank, I'm amazed any bellows of standard generic Lambretta dimensions works @ all, even without an air filter because I couldn't achieve that on a Rapido with a Ø30 mm Dell'Orto)

However, in an attempt to address your question, you could attempt reshaping the Casa bellows, somewhat, in boiling hot water using some clamping arrangement until it cools. Other than that, it's a case of cutting back, where you can, by modification/substitution of the carb mount rubber/manifold to gain those few, vital millimeters....

Roy/ have you got the rubber buffer fitted to the rear suspension leg? they are needed as they push the panel out in the middle which pulls the panel into the lip round the hoop

While Roy is catching up with the rest of the world, I'll answer your questions.

The scooter has been resprayed and rebuilt and is looking better than it has for years. All the panels are a lovely fit. The carb is Delly PHBL 30. There were marks on the inside of the panel where the bellows have rubbed, and he wanted to run a modded air box rather than sweet breath as he wanted to return to standard looks, albeit with the TS1 lump.

I have found a soft, but not too soft, bellows that Roy will collect from me soon. It has got to be worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion of getting Roy to crawl on the floor.

Cheers everyone for your advice! I've spent twice my original estimate restoring this scooter to it's former glory & I REFUSE to spent another penny on it even if the panel falls of every time I start it up. Unless of course Knowledge's soft bellows(ehem) doesn't do the trick. Cheers peeps

Ts1 through the airbox and with bellows compressed against the panel. Good luck, mate!

You may be surprised at how well it goes. I'm very happy with the performance. You can try it in Italy if you make it!

Is this a reamed out 25phbl? I know you don't want to spend more but certain Mikunis are 15mm slimmer than Dell'ortos.

I do know what you're going through as I have just had to change manifolds because of the same issue, albeit on a GT186.

30 PWK is very slim too, I have one you can have for free and more jets and needles than I know what to do with. Bought it off Loydee a couple of years ago but will never use it as I already have 2 others
