SIP Speedo question

Evening All,

I'm looking at fitting a SIP speedo/rev counter to my S2. I'd like to do away with the frequently snapping speedo cable if I can, does anyone know if the magnetic sensor thingy they talk about comes with it or does it have to be ordered as an extra?

Many Thanks.

It's an extra and I now understand that there is also a sensor that screws into the speedo drive on the hub in place of the cable. TBoth types pf sensor are around £20

I've had pne in a box for a year or so and only got round to fitting it a couple of weeks ago but still having trouble setting it up. Mine was 2nd hand but unused and came with the remote magnetic sensor and bracket made by Koso I think. I have followed the instructions and am still having trouble getting the speedo to function correctly. You have to tell the device if an external sensor is fitted but I think they are referring to the external sensor that fits to the speedo drive in the hub, not the magnetic type. Save yourself some hassle and also avoid the necessity for an ugly bracket and go for that type, they are the same price anyway. I think I will get there with my setup listening to some advice on here and FB but it will be by a lot of trial and error :?

Apart from the speed issue, the device looks nice but is not as functional as it could be in my view. The cht reading is very small and is hard to read on the move. The low fuel warning indicates by alternating the mileage reading with the word 'FUEL' but again it is not easy to spot unless you are deliberately looking for it. Then, you have the option (version 2 at least) to set the dial to read as a rev counter and the digital read out to show MPH but the only other option is to have them BOTH reading MPH :?

Sounds like they're a bit hit and miss........ they do look good though! And I'm fed up with rubbish standard speedos and cables so it's the logical choice,

Thanks for the advice

Hugh.
