I have a NOS Mahle SIL piston which is spot on for clearance in the barrel I'm going to put back in my Lince.

It's a three ring piston, with one chrome ring and two plain rings. I'm sure I've seen advice to only fit two rings on these.

Should it be one chrome and one plain or the two plain ones?

I've good experience of chrome top, plain second, 3rd no ring fitted.

^... Happy to help but I can't claim credit for it as that was the recommended configuration as given by a very well respected tuner, which has subsequently proven its worth over many thousands of trouble-free scooting
