Fuel cap breather

Every time that someone has a problem with the fuel delivery or sometimes what they think is an electical problem someone always says,"have you checked the breather in the fuel cap",I have even suggested it in the past, but nobody has said "that was the problem"until now.I have been having an intermitent problem for at least a year where my scooter may travel a 100 miles or 10 miles, but eventually it happens were it feels as if its run out of fuel and needs to be turned onto reserve. It has never quite packed up,but very close. So I decided to check the breather on my fuel cap and to my surprise the breather on one side of my cap was completely blocked and the other side made a burbling sound as if it was about to block.I have since replaced the cap and done about 1000 miles without a problem. The moral of this story is,if you have any fuel or electrical problems, remove the cap and check the breather. Here is a couple of photos of a new cap.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lambretta-Pet ...
