Mixed experiences, search the forum for issues, mainly condensation, set up difficulties and electrical (using DC systems).
Alternatives - none with these features that fit in the hole in your headset without modifying it.

I fitted mine just before going to Adria. My scoot has a full DC conversion but everything works as it should with the feed fro the rev counter taken from one of the yellows coming out of the stator. We experienced some biblical rain in the 2200 mile round trip but there has been no condensation at all to date. Everything works as it should, I used a gps to fine tune the speed but found it was only under reading by 1mph across the speed range on the settings suggested. My speedo utilises a remote probe that picks up pulses from the front wheel studs and is spot on now that I have sussed the instructions (with help from here and scooterotica) which is probably the biggest criticism I have apart from the cylinder head temp reading which is hard to read in daylight due to being on the small side.
I would definitely but another one if standardish looks were important otherwise the Gammatech unit has a lot going for it if Athony Tambs ever gets round to making any more
Hope that helps

They do work reasonably well but you do need a full DC electrical system.
On the downside they were not well designed from a readability point of view. The timeclock, the trip, the odometer and the temperature figures are illegible when riding. The timeclock has a mind of its own. In fact, I've given up setting the time on mine.
There are others on the market which need a modified headset top to accommodate them. Although I've no experience with these I think they should display all the relevant data more clearly simply because they are better designed and have a larger overall footprint.
IMO. I think in the future we are more likely to see production of these modified headset tops to take "off the shelf" instruments rather than someone making a suitable, readable instrument to fit the standard headset top.

I run my sip2 on ac without any problems and find it easy to read when riding the only problem I had was fitting all the wires in the headset

I have the same without any mechanical/electrical issues the only problem I find with the series 3/SX/GP one is it is sometime difficult to read whereas the series 2 is fine.

Hi these are good but beware works best on full DC.
Please read other threads on here regarding set-up as I needed help with my set up, ( Found out needed to join yellow from stator to rpm).
All working OK now.
