Hi All,
I need to get a new LiS front mudguard, the scooter I'm rebuilding has a plastic one and I'd like to change it for metal before the respray . Oem prices are around £100 but there are some cheaper ones about for around the £50 mark. As ever I'm on a budget so, are any of the cheaper ones better than others?

Also need a new rear mudguard am I correct in thinking all series 3 are the same item?

Which ever one you decide on,make sure it has been pressed all in one go and not beaten into shape by a Vietnamese guy with a hammer.

when you say "plastic" do you mean glassfibre if so and it's original they are quite rare

Pretty sure it's plastic, black and car bumper like....... I've had to file it a bit to get a decent fit to the legshields but just fancy metal instead.
Frame starts 150lis*232 which I think means it may have had a fibreglass mudguard originally (the one I have was not with the scooter when purchased) but I'm not looking at an original resto.

Think I've settled on Just Lambretta to buy steel ones from.

good choice I've bought a few bit's off just Lambretta always good quality, be interesting to see a pic of the plastic one

Just taken me two glasses of wine to figure out how to upload a photo and somehow there's two images which are both the wrong way up

If this has worked and the photos are actually online please note the horncast will:

A. Be removed and sold if I can find an original or decently priced 'plain' copy

B. Be sprayed over if I can't find a suitable replacement

Quality of the Viet pressed panels and mudguards is good. I'd recommend going for the bare metal finish if available, that way you can see it's not been hand beaten or full of filler. Your painter will prefer bare metal too as he knows he's not going to get any paint reactions.

I had one at one time. Made of heavy duty plastic. As you say, the same sort of material as a car bumper. Somebody did make them at one time. Although I don't think they still do.

Are the side panels and mudguard a good fit and are they suitable for chrome plating? Cheers
