Is there such a thing as a tyre that handles well like a scootsmart but looks classic like s83?

I'm building a series 2 original look but with a ts1 motor and decent suspension. So I dont want to compromise handling but nor do I want the tyres to look too modern.

What about the new continental k62 classic? There's a new 75mph rated one now. Looks more "classicy" but they also look like they have that car tyre profile that makes it feel like the bike is falling over once you reach a certain lean angle

Heidenau K38 , reinforced and good speed rating.Only had it on my back wheel for about 500 miles so far-and so far so good. Used it on the Derby 150 which in places the rain was horrendous (snake pass!!) .But it performed admirably. Had been using the Continental Classic with the high speed rating reinforced sidewall , but wore out on the back wheel sub 500 miles

It doesn't have the classic look but has anyone tried the Vee Rubber VRM396 Manhatten?
The blurb reads well for what it's worth.

Thanks. That looks like what I'm after. 81mph rating and looks like an old ceat. How does it feel when you're tipping it in to bends?

I've found it to be OK, grippy.Just be wary when you order there are J speed (nothing wrong with J rating I just prefer a higher speed rating) rating versions of this about as well , for example on this site they have both the J and the M rated tyre https://www.tirendo.co.uk/search?brand= ... e=&size=10 . At present on the back wheel its done just about 500 miles (after the other Continental wore out so quick I took a picture of the speedo mileage so I could see how long this one lasts before I went ahead and bought them over the winter ready for next year). If I can get Cartmel out of the back tyre, about a 350 mile round trip for us, I'll be happy.

One of mine was shod with Continental Move 365's and, to be fair, they'd done a lot of miles.

Unfortunately, the back one was close to failing the MOT.

Even more unfortunately, I'm told that Continental no longer produce these; production didn't last long then!

So, I'm after a good all year round tyre in a similar vein.

As always any and all suggestions* are gratefully received.

(*In context, natch.)

The Conti Move is now made by the same factory and badged as the Anlas Winter Grip 2. Some subtle differences in the tread but basically the same tyre and seems to work just as well

+1 with these although the Soft Compound means Low Mileage on the rear @1500 i would say

Agree with you there, certainly higher wear in the summer got to see what the wear is like in the cooler months.

I had S83 on my series 2 for years, Just fitted some Mitas MC-20 and got to say they feel really good, much more confidence inspiring than the S1 I have on another scooter.

The tread pattern is kind of similar to the old Michelin Dexter.
