In the process of rebuilding my freshly painted SX150. Other than plenty of grease, does anyone have any other tips to stop the paint getting rubbed of the stand, in the vicinity of the splash plate hooks, each time the stand is used? Thanks.

Don't think there is any way round that, even my old 1971 GP 200 lost it's paint when it was a few days old, memories

Grease could make it worse it ends up like grinding paste when all the crap from the road gets trapped in it .
A spray now and again with WD or similar perhaps....

I've given up trying to keep my Li pristine I just ride it and fix when broken.

There is a simple way to avoid the stand rubbing the paint off. Use some thin stainless steel sheet (I cut up an old multi lamp light fitting) and fold it over the bottom of the leg shield bracket, drill it so you can fix it in place with the main stand bolts. Of course this works best if you use a stainless or chrome stand rather than one thats painted.

Thanks for the suggestions. The paint seems to come off the stand rather than the frame, so I think I may try wrapping the top of the stand in a clear plastic film, then grease it all.
