Banjo bolt

Postby gizmo » Wed Nov 29, 2017 6:20 pm

Just got a venhill hose and fittings. The banjo bolt to the lth master cylinder is about 4mm too long as the thread in cylinder isn't deep enough. Question being. Is it OK to file a bit off length of banjo bolt.

Yeh, got the two copper washers on but it still bottoms out. I have a hex head one which is shorter and fits but on the lth master cylinder it's a right pain as it's tight on headset bottom so the button head ones with an Allen key fitting are spot on. But are too long :(

or dump the copper crush washers and fit Dowty seals.
I had the opposite problem, with Dowty seals fitted there was only about 4 threads showing , had to use the crush washers or use my old banjo bolt, preferd the nice Venhill button head bolt.
