I have this annoying problem with my series 3 li125.

At tickover it runs nice but anything more than 1/2 throttle and u have this vibration/ reverberation/ rattle emanating from the legshield to the headset.

I have checked and greased the bearing headset, checked the stand, taken the exhaust off and checked the cowling and its still happening.

The only two things i can now think of is the silent blocks are knackered (they are the early narrow ones) they seem fine. Or the crank has twisted or distorted due to the 175 barrel and Ancillotti exhaust.

Any other ideas or experience on this?

It happens stationary with the stand up and down and whilst moving.

Drives you mad, doesn't it? I had an annoying rattle and it turned out to be the toolbox lock. The barrel was vibrating and only really became apparent when riding. But yes, the engine mounts could be suspect. The thin LI style ones are known to vibrate and it's a good move to replace them with the fatter SX type.

Its just ruining my rides. If it was a rattle i could live with it. This is more like the whole scooter is resonating as soon as I accelerate.

I am planning on uprating it to a 192 Suzuki kit and 12v but wanted to do it with the engine in situ but i suppose it will need to be removed and silent blocks replaced.

Check everything simple first. I had a serious vibration at certain revs that felt like it was coming from the legsheild level with bottom of horncast but nothing cured it including re routing the cables slightly as I thought they were contacting the tunnel in the legsheild. Eventually took it for a spin with all the panels and runners off and narrowed it down to the stand vibrating due to worn brackets. Only at certain revs though

My Milan 97 ride had small original engine mounts and that used to vibrate bulbs to failure!

Ive taped the stand up and even held it whilst i revved it up. Still no different.

The only other thing i can think of is that the anti vibration washers under the legshield are missing or worn out.

Adam: funnily enough i keep blowing the rear light too, maybe not linked but i cant find the cause.

All of the above but make sure your pipe is not rubbing any bodywork. I had a curly jl that the u pipe touched the rear footboard and was very close to the splash plate. I had to make a power bulge in the footboard to clear it and did away with the splash plate. Only spotted it when I was removing bits to find it went quite and had a shiny bit on pipe and board

I have removed and refitted silent blocks by just dropping the front of the motor and leaving shock connected for a bit of stability

Did you ever find the cause of your vibration, as I have what sounds exactly the same problem.
Any info would be appreciated

It could just be worn engine bearings and a slappy piston.
