There was someone a few years ago , who put an s1/2/3 frame tube in a j range complete with engine. I know it sounds bonkers and I can't remember how it was done , but there were pics, I think it was someone from Norfolk , and may of been on the ....eherm..."other" forum :)

Cheers Russ that's just what I wanted and similar to what I have in mind. Do you know if this project was ever completed and the scooter put into use. I think engine wise something a little more subtle will suffice, lol.

beat me to it. spent the last ½ hour looking through Tidd's flickr photos, literally 000s on there... I had got to the J pics, but they're all on that scooterotica thread...
I think it was sold as a project a couple of years ago...

Sold as a project, to me.

Then I gave up on it, sold the SX150 frame on to a mate that built a cutdown, and I scrapped the hollow J range bit.
I think I have the panels and mudguard still though.

Shaun.

If you need the panels let me know.

I can't help on a Sx frame though

Oh, and you will a rarity, but not the first.
Centosam from 13th valley had the Black Widow in the 80's.
His was a standard J frame with a wedged in s3 lump and a rear extention on the frame to allow for the extra length of the engine :D

Cheers Shaun, I think I have got all I need. Would like to see some pics of Black Widow though.
