Hi
my 1960 series 2. MOT runs out the end of March but after May wont need an Mot anyway under new rules. If I dont use it till then will it be legal after May or would I still need to get one,its not that it isnt roadworthy cause only done 200 miles since last year its that being a pensioner every penny counts and seems a bit daft for 2 months.Image

As i understand it you will need to go to a post office(as opposed to online).Reason is at the P.O. you will havecto declare that it is exempt.(i think there is a form to fill in).By declaring exempt you are affirming that no substantial alterations have taken place to the vehicle.
Once you do this the first time, afterwards it can be done online

May 20th is the date it will be illegal to use it without mot before that date.

Spot on reply. The declaration must be made at the counter. My local Tesco has a DVLA counter, they are well trained.
