Super Lui..

Postby jdevane5 » Wed Feb 04, 2026 10:17 pm

Anyone built a Super Lui yet?
Im looking into it but cant figure out the crank given vertical barrel and can only see one as part of a kit from Cambridge scoots
Im assuming a Vespa style with lope cutouts.
Also exhaust wise what to use?

I will chk out the FB group next,Im sure I spotted a build on there.

Any help welcome.

Hi, my understanding of it is it's basically a series 3 casing with frame contact points to fit the Luna and J range frames. So you can fit anything into it from eg 125cc components to say a RB250 inc the crank! Only an opinion anything with too much power into these frames will be a waste, as handling and stopping will be seriously compromised, you would need to alter a front hub from a series 3 to fit the standard fork links and go inside the forks to get a decent front brake not an easy task, i know as i've done one on my 135cc Cometa. The pressed mono frames wont take too kindly to the vibration either. I think the casing price is around £900 but i could be way out on that.

Ive now managed to find someone doing a build on FB, which has helped.
I was planning on changing the whole front of the scoot to cope with NVH and might make some internal changes to the frame along with a racing strut.
I'm as chassis enigneer so thats right up my street.
From what I have found you have to get the crank modified and I will likley get it balanced as well.
There sounds to be further maching required potentially to the Mag housing to allow clearance.
So does sound like challenge of a project for sure.
My first plan was to fit a casa135 and lunaclutch etc -However everything is sold out with no sign of new stock for a while -Thus look ing into the Super lui, the engine case is around £1500,they do for two vaiants.

Also cant get over the price of Lui, Luna, cometa, vega parts..

Yes part prices can be very costly, but at least now you can get most of the bits since Casa had them remade, headlight rims were a fortune before they were remade and the headlight itself an internal organ cost! I was told by a Luna line specialist when i was on the hunt for mine "buy one as near complete as possible" this was before Casa got involved and with their cyl kits opening up the possibilities of speed and the increase in demand for the bikes and resulting asking price hike. I look at the facebook group and note people are now selling the cp135 converted bikes and see the start of Super Lui projects but don't hear much afterwards, perhaps that might be a place to source what your after, either the parts or a finished article.
