Model B Frame & engine numbers

Postby TS1-200 » Wed Mar 23, 2016 4:27 pm

Could anybody tell me where I can find the frame and engine numbers on a Model B, I have found one number stamped on the upright part of the engine where it bolts to the frame I assume this is the engine number, begins with TIP0 B 215xx, where would I look for the other number

According to Vittorio Tessera's book, the B frame numbering sequence started at 00001 and ended at approximately 40,000. I've no idea where to find it - the most bizarre place I've found for the frame number on a Lambretta was on the French Ld Mk4 - it's stamped on the side of the front seat support bracket. You could always look there, I suppose.....

I have been told the frame number is on the bodywork under the exhaust port, will get it out properly in the daylight tomorrow and look

The frame number is situated just below the exhaust ferrule and the engine number on the right hand side below the carb. The numbers were prefixed with Tipo B with the exception of the first 30/40 which had Tipo 3
