model c gears / clutch causing engine cut out

On my model c when I go to change gears there is like a crunch \ grind sound then engine cuts out the clutch leaver is sort of loose not tight is it the clutch is not engaging fully when leaver pulled in or is there some adjustments need doing

Well, the first place to start would be to adjust the clutch properly. The clutch is adjusted at the engine first and then the lever freeplay is set.
