If the riveted-on alloy plate is missing, have a look on the side of the front seat bracket, near the bolt holes for the seat. If your question means that you have the number, but can't find the year, have a look on the French Lambretta club website. http://www.lambretta-france.com/index.php There's an identification guide here:- http://www.lambretta-france.com/modules ... No frame number guide, but from the various characteristics of kickstart, front casting, rear light, handlebar details etc., it might be possible to determine its year of manufacture to within a year or two from the guide on that site. Most of the French LDs to find their way to the UK were fairly late on, generally between 1958 and 1960, when Innocenti had stopped Italian LD production, and they couldn't produce the new Li Series 1 fast enough to satisfy demand in the UK. The import of the French LD125 was simply to satisfy the demand for Lambrettas, regardless of model. If you've got one from before 1958, it's probably a personal import, or one imported years later - there would be no reason to market the French version in the UK before then, as the dealers had plenty of Italian LDs to meet demand.
