To Varitronic -Or not?

Need some advise -I just stripped down the ignition system on my 53 LD125 and noted the Stator is in a mess and needs nearly everything replaced.
So I have started to look at options...and for a bit more cash I could go electronic.

I have read good and bad in fitting a Varitronic ignition -however I'm after a reliable old scoot and not a purest -So is an electronic system the way to go? And do u really need to rejet if fitting electronic? What are the pros and cons from people that have fitted electronic to their vintage LD's?

I have a modified D150 and happily run the varitronic. I have good spark and bright lights, even at idle.
