Model B - lighting coils & wiring Q's.

Hi All,

My lighting coils are back from the rewinders & I now need to install them & make good the partially missing wiring. Could someone check my questions/assumptions below and correct me where I'm wrong? (And I will be wrong, I haven't found a wiring diagram yet)

1. Did the Model B come with a horn? Mine hasn't a horn or switch but they could have been lost years ago.
2. Should the long black wires on both lighting coils be joined together, and should they then feed the purple wire which runs from the loom to the junction box?
3. Should the Model B have a regulator? I haven't managed to find one yet but the old 6v British bikes I've had a device to regulate the current.
4. If anyone has a wiring diagram could they tell me the purpose of the yellow and brown wires coming from the loom to the junction box?

Many thanks in advance,
Scott.

Hi, the B has a horn and is operated on the light switch on the right hand of the handle bars the horn sits behind the front forks/wheel. I have a mk3 so thats what im working off.
I've not been into the stator area so cant help on how the coils are wired or fixed.
I can't think i've seen a regulator, not that i'm up on electrics, but nothing like the metal boxes on later series machines.
I have a parts manual re print i'll have a look and see if that might throw light on your quest.
The model C/LC engine shares many engine parts from the B if you could find something on those.
if you look in the show your ride there's a couple of posts with pics that might help perhaps.

Thanks Thackers, I've found your B in 'show your ride' - very impressive!
