Not absolutely sure, but I think it's about 5 litres. Since I'm never likely to be riding mine any distace, I've never tried to fill it!

Apparently, all D models had the same size tank, 5.6 litres plus 0.7 litre reserve. Only the later LD models had a slightly larger tank, at 6.4 litres plus 0.7 litre reserve.

I have a repro "Book of the Lambretta" by R H Warring, which covers the 125 and 150 cc scooters from 1947 to 1957 inclusive. It says that the "Model D" had a capacity of 1.4 gallons (6.36 litres), while the "Model LD" was 1.55 gallons ( 7.05 litres). They both had a reserve of 1.25 pints ( 0.71 litres).

Yes, I've got that book as well - the truth of the matter is that the early LDs (i.e. LD125 Mk1), had the tubular steel frame underneath the pressed steel frame loop, which meant that the capacity was the same as the D. Only the later LDs from about 1954 on (Mk2 & Mk3) had the pressed steel frame loop without the tubular steel section over top of the fuel tank. This meant the tank could be made deeper, and hence the greater fuel capacity. By the time the book was published, the majority of the LDs on the road would have been the later type.
