Torsion bar

Trying to remove this part of torsion bar. Should I get aggresive with it or is there something I'm missing. It woul seem it should slide out.

In my experience - of one. Once the torque is removed it has just tapped out easily.

Remove the clip from the other side and see if you can knock the whole thing out. If a joint remains frozen, repeatedly soak it with a solution of 50% acetone and 50% Dexron 2/3/4 automatic transmission oil. Over a period of weeks if necessary. If that all fails, take it to machine shop and get them to press it apart.

Using heat is tempting but it can toast the torsion bar unless you are not careful.

It seems that the circlips and washers have already been removed from both ends of the bar, and the bar pushed into the lever arm a short distance. Otherwise you would surely not be able to see the splines inside the lever arm as you can in the photo?
Can you knock it back the other way to its original seating position, to try to free it? Perhaps try hitting it alternately from each side?

Thanks for the replys. Sorry just getting back. Had to pause for the holiday.
I did get the bar apart. All I had to do was grease the joint and twist a few times and it came apart. Now the question is when putting back together how do I align properly. I did mark where the splines were before removing. Just wondering if there is a set rule as to where it should be.
