Model d legshield support bars

Postby mm man » Sat Jul 30, 2016 9:25 am

Hi can anyone tell me how many support bars go through the frame to hold the legshields ?
I have one bar at the front of the frame and two holes in the frame behind that of the same diameter given the impression there should be three bars?
I don't want to weld any more bars in if incorrect. I have done some google searches and I see some with one and some with two bars ?
If these holes are not for supports what are they for ?
Thanks in advance for your help

You need another 2 bars fitting through the holes in the frame but NOT welded. Only the front bar is welded which is why the other two are missing.

On mine, the middle one of the three bars carries a cable guide, part no. 11180151, to the right (rear brake pedal side) of the horizontal main frame tube.

It was fitted on the bar, between the frame tube and the innermost of the two legshield fitting holes in the bar.
