Great photos. Dunno when you took them but it seems quite empty on the camp site compared to last years guy rope tripping competition..

Peejay`s campsite photo`s were taken lunchtime Saturday I think... the campsite didn't get any busier to be fair..

I think the simple answer is...
Last year WSM was the end of July, it came with a scorchio weather forecast that was bang on right..
This one was early May (stating the obvious there) and it came with a shite forecast.. weather was nowhere near as bad as predicted..
Numbers looked down to me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the rally...

I travelled down from Durham, and to be honest, I wasn't looking forward to the (forecasted) weather for the weeekend. It didn't put me off, as I feel the National Rallies are to be supported. Gotta say, I was nicely surprised when the weather turned out to be better than expected.

BTW nice pics!

There is that mi duck, but there is also that annual May event in Skegness. I live in Skeggy most of the year, so I run away to whatever national is on, unless I'm working. As much as I dislike the Skeg rally and refuse to be part of it, it is really popular and has a massive impact on the Mayday National.

Katie & I did the whole weekend and B&B'd although it's only 40 odd miles from mine.

Had a good time despite the amount of numpties staggering about reliving the 80s they never knew in the wintergardens.
I still can't get over the amount of tossers who take motorhomes to a rally -especially one with as many B&Bs as Weston -what the hell do they get out of their brand of 'scootering'?

Frankly I'll miss Weston as a rally (apparently the greedy tory bastard fookers in the council have sold off the venue for £1 to the local college and plan to flog off the rugby ground next!).

Very refreshing to see proper stalls with proper parts -a world away from the shiny shit and kitsch of the IW for example.

Wonderful to meet up with the rest of my club and follow them at 32mph flat out down hill (B model, C Model, D model and a few LD's!) and 20 mph uphill purring nicely from Chew Valley lake.
