I am sorry to hear about your off, and I am sorry that this has had such an effect on your wife's confidence.
However, I was thinking that the £15 fee was very reasonable. The mersea island rally has a fee of £25, and you have to pay and register your car in advance.
You can bring other people in the car, and spread the cost, though I am not encouraging people to arrive by car for obvious reasons.

The £15 fee isnt really out of the way, take into account the facilities on site and its pretty good value for money even if two wheels dont pay.

Have to agree.
It's only £5.00 per day if you're there from Friday to Sunday. You couldn't park for that sort of daily price in any town in the country.
Try £42.00 per day in London.........

its not the money is the principle not prepared to pay an extra £15 to line vfm's pockets
when it was an lcgb rally there was no charge for cars

Hi Terry
VFM are only providing the entertainment for the
LCGB National Rally at Lincoln 2015.
I hope you're the only one that thinks that VFM have organised what is expected to be the biggest inland scooter rally in 2015
(In 2012, I'm 99% certain there was a similar charge for 4 wheel vehicles, just like their is 2015. The LCGB always encourages riding scooters to scooter rallies).
Cheers
Toot

Can't see much wrong with charging extra for cars/vans/campers (how much is it worth too sleep in "comfort" compared to a small tent). Too many events are attended by people not on scooters yet revelling in the atmosphere of those having done the "hard" miles.
I sympathise with scooterists who struggle to attend on scooters (for various reasons) but a smaller attended event with 100% scooter riders would be preferable than a "mass" event where all and sundry turn up.....IMO

OK Terry, you've made your point. Have a nice weekend.
I'll be at Lincoln, supporting the LCGB and their officers who have already given-up a great deal of their own time to organise this type of event. I'll say thank-you now, because I know what it takes to organise a rally, not just attend one.

That's a shame Terry...
The world of Scootering is very diverse nowadays, there`s lots of different events on, often multiple events on the same weekend...
I feel sad that you`d sooner line the pockets of A.N. Other scooter event organiser on the LCGB National rally Lincoln weekend...!!!
Many of the VFM lads are proud paid up Lammy club members that enjoy nothing more than supporting a rally rather than giving up their weekends to try and host a rally
Im not a fan of cars on rallies at all, but a vehicle used for back up purposes makes sense to many, I can only imagine how worried your kids were, when the wife was injured after a spill, but surely you still riding the scooter is a risk and worry to them...?????
Im sure you`ll enjoy whichever event you end up at the weekend of the 11th ... I will look out for you at the York SC event, or failing that the Wearside Wanderers, and Llandudno National both look very good rallies beforehand..
Ride safe pal

God people have short memories.
Cars and there occupants can end up as a nuisance, just ask the organisers of Mersea Island. The last rally they did before they took the brave decision to limit cars was a nightmare. The event had become a cheap music festival with a large proportion of the people attending having little or no interest in scooters. Since the limit on cars Mersea is a scooter rally again.
Everyone has a "good" reason to arrive by car but someones suggestion that you spread the £15 charge between the carload fills me with dread. Car loads of people; just what we need at a scooter rally.
As for the entry cost overall, why not ring up Lincoln showground and ask them how much it would be to book the site for the weekend. When we did our Larling rally we paid a couple of hundred quid for the serviced site so we could offer free entry. I suspect the Lincoln showground may be a little more
