Craig Ballantine set up the NW 500 last August Bank Holiday,
This is a general plan again, run for groups of classic scooters. Information will be posted on the Facebook Page, Hebridean Hopscotch, covering fuel stops, towns, ferry tickets and accommodation, camping etc oh and Whisky. It will be down to groups to organise accommodation etc.
I'm looking into the Caledonian MacBrayne Hopscotch ticket, this cheaply takes riders and scooters across the Scottish Islands
At the moment it's looking likely to be Thursday 24th August 2017 10am - 12pm starting at Wemyss Bay (Greenock) heading to Rothesay by ferry. A sensible amount of miles and couple of short ferries, take us to Tarbert Loch Fyne and lunch, then 50 road miles, to overnight in Oban.
Friday 25th August, ferry Oban to Tobermory Mull, time to explore the Island and mid afternoon, off Mull at Tobermory to Lochaline and 60 road miles to overnight at the port of Mallaig.
Saturday 26th, Ferry from Mallaig to Skye and all day for riders to explore the Island. Overnight, Kyle of Lochalsh . From there riders can retrace their steps or head back to Mallaig and the road to Glasgow (150 miles) or venture into the Outer Hebrides.

You'd be very welcome but you might need to bring a Matt or a Glenda.
Here's wishing you all a Happy Xmas and prosperous New Year

Ive looked at the Ferry tickets required and it is £43.55 for the 2 tickets we will need (not bad for 6 ferries)

Hopscotch 4 Wemyys Bay Oban £19.25

Mainstand, I was in touch with Bryan the organiser today and it's still on. Wednesday night my plan is to pitch the tent in the pub garden at a place called Leadhills which I used on the way to Mull, about 75 miles short of Wemyss Bay. Then there are a couple of reasonably priced hostels in both Oban (Backpackers & Backpackers Plus) and Mallaig (Sheena's & The Mission) all at about £20 a night. Might have to cut it short to start heading home so not decided on Saturday night but there are a small handful of hostels and a campsite within 30 minutes of ride of the Skye bridge.
