Looking better all the time.
The gear change assembly would they be alloy assembly the same as the throttle ones by any chance ?
I have bought one on my travels (very cheaply I might add ) and am wanting to us it on a cutdown project of mine to replace the plastic one which is currently on there which when I tighten up the clutch lever it crushes the tube onto the bars,I am hoping the alloy one will be more suitable.

thats fantastic ! What a great build and a good read to boot....

Maybe you should submit the build as an article to a scooter mag and make a bit of money for some more bits . ;)

have you measured the final capacity of the fuel tank in Litres ? very nice tank by the way ,it looks like it could be an original part

Yes Duncan, pit bike throttles off ebay (about £10 each) , they are a push/pull throttle so can be used as a gear change also , they are all alloy so less crushable than the plastic ones

:)
Great stuff about the alloy throttle body.
I spotted it in a bike shop here in the Philippines and thought it might be an improvement on the plastic one I have fitted to my cutdown project and for about five pound sterling thought it was worth a punt not having seen them before.
It will be sometime before I am reunited with my Lambrettas :(
The reason for that is a WHOLE other story :D :D

I had wondered what became of this project, good to see it on the road and finished.
I bought a few of those pit bike throttle assemblies while here in the Philippines , dirt cheap !
Fitted one to one of my cutdown projects but not had the chance to try it out.
Curious how does it work OK ?
Its certainly better feeling than the plastic one I fitted originally.
Are you going to do a recap on the build or did you get too into the zone of building and not taking photos ?
