I thought I would post up a few pics of some our Club scoots from the week we spent in Normandy for the 70th Anniversary D Day. A great week with a mixture of emotions from having a good laugh and some great rides with mates to visiting numerous Batteries, Beaches, Museums and the most touching, Cemeteries.

Do you do this every year as a few of us would like to do it next year and thought it might be better to tag along with someone who knows the ropes ?

Hi Wack, this was my 1st visit for a D Day Anniversary but others in the group did the 60th & 65th. You are spot on with the idea of having someone who knows the ropes. Mates who had been before and were well informed on where things were was a massive help in seeing as much as we did in the full 5 days we had there.

Day 1, Coventry to Portsmouth, night ferry crossing to Le Havre.
Day 2, Le Havre, Honfleur, Courseulles-sur-Mer, Merville Battery, Arromanches, Port En Bessin.
Day 3, Omaha Beach, Point Du Hoc, Grand Camp Maisey, American Cemetery.
Day 4, (D Day 6/6) Arromanches, Longues Sur Mer Battery.
Day 5, St Mere Eglise, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach.
Day 6, Bayeux, British Cemetery, Canadian Cemetery, Pegasus Bridge, Ouistreham (Caen).
Day 7, night ferry crossing, Portsmouth to Coventry.

I would definitely recommend going and would be a great help having someone who knows their stuff over there or do a lot of homework.
It is a real eye opener of a trip.
