Is there a knack to removing cylinder cowling from my 125 Special with engine still in frame - running boards, exhaust & manifold, fuel tank, toolbox, all removed? According to Sticky's guide it's straightforward - what am I doing wrong?

If you still need more space, remove the bump stop rubber by poking a small screw driver into it.

WD40 overnight on the shocker mounts - next day socket and VERY long bar.
Hey presto shocker removed........
The cowling almost fell off after a little twiddling and oh boy is it gunged up on the inside - looks like 49 years of 2 stroke fuel and crud - looks like the surface of the moon!.......lots of cleaning to follow...... :)
