WEBSITE ISSUES

Hello
Just wondering - are there any issues with the website / forum at the moment?
I notice that the pages are not secure (ie http, rather than https) and a number of my friends are having trouble accessing this site via mobile and laptop devices? It seems that their AV software won't let them open the pages anymore.
Additionally, I have also noticed that fewer people seem to be using this forum and posting pictures since the feature to upload pics directly has ceased to function.
Would it be possible to re-instate this function, or is there a technical issue preventing this?
(I am an IT Project Manager and would be willing to help out here if needed)
Cheers

As long as I can remember the website has been HTTP, and yes the security issues come up if you haven't stayed logged in, however nobody has ever reported any issues as far as I am aware.
As for the photo uploading issue, I find that adding photos via a link on a photo hosting site is very simple. I use this one:-

Securing a website using https is basic security and good practice
It can prevent interception of data such as passwords etc
Why could not this feature be added by the hosting company?

This request would need to be passed on to to the website administrator, Martin Lloyd, who I am sure doesn't come on this forum. A committee member would have to do this as I am not a Committee member anymore and I haven't looked after the website for 18 months now.

Hello,
As Rich mentions I took over managing the LCGB website and historically there was never any security for site pages (HTTPS).
Thanks to Mandy we've purchased a certificate for ilambretta.co.uk so I'll get this installed.
WRT the forum I wasn't involved in originally setting this up but it's a great resource so will look into what's causing mobile/laptop device access issues and how we can provide a simpler mechanism to upload pics.
All this will have to wait until after Crimbo but thanks for the feedback and suggestions @Covboy.
If there's anything else that would help make the LCGB site more useful then let me know.
Cheers
- Lloydy.

I had a strange situation with the site about a couple of months ago, whereby every time I clicked on "Board Index" it would direct me to my Vodaphone broadband help app. Most strange. It mean't that I had to go in via the back door to access "Active Topics"
It was irritating for a while but eventually it corrected itself without any intervention.
At the time I put it down to some corruption at my end but I never did get to the bottom of it.

Sorry Rich, not implying anything, just replying to say I probably hadn't seen the 'not secure' button because I hadn't looked.

Hello,
I've now updated
https://www.ilambretta.co.uk with an SSL certificate which addresses basic web site security and will hopefully alleviate issues accessing the site from devices with anti-virus software installed.
I'll look into the pic upload capability next.
Happy New Year and all that and ride safe.
Cheers
