Mikuni TMX 30 powerjet

Need to change the throttle cable elbow on my Mikuni tmx 30 powerjet carb to fit long range tank, what i need to know is does it actually screw off? seems very tight and i dont want to force it. If its not a screw in is bending it an option. maybe with a little heat?
Anyone had the same problem?

my two mikuni tmx 30 are I believe push fit...couldn't get them out.(drilled one out in the end)..gentle heating may succeed.....
