22mm Scootopia Carb and Clubman Exhaust

Hi

I recently change the Carb on my standard SX200 to the 22mm Scootopia from Mike Pheonix and added a Rayspeed Clubman exhaust.

Goes great if I am planning on entering the next IOM TT; however, I prefer a more sedate ride. I can't hold 30MPH without it spluttering and its very jerky.

Current jet set up is 123 main, 45 pilot, 50 starter. I used the atomizer from my original 20mm carb which seemed to have bigger holes.

Any ideas?

J

123 is the main for the late GP spec barrel, try drop it to 118 or 115 and see if it improves.

I know a lot of people say that the main has nothing to do with low running but of you look at the pilot on an SH2 there's no hole in the bowl so the fuel has to be drawn from the main circuit. I had a similar problem with my Lince - which is basically the same barrel as SX and I ended up on a 112 main with an SH2/22 and a clubman.

The atomiser (assuming it's a genuine Dellorto one) should be stamped 5899-2, used on both the SX200 20mm carb and the GP200 22mm carb. Maybe the Scootopia carb came with a GP150 atomiser, 5899-4?

I have two 5899-2 one was in the old 20mm and another in the new 22; however, the holes are bigger in my original 5899-2 atomizer

Have you tried the one that came with the carb?

Allstyles sell that atomiser with modified (ie bigger holes)

I'm a bit late to this . . . the 22mm has 2 slides and 2 atomisers . . . . use the 200 ones. the 200 slide has no cut out, it makes a huge difference.

I've recently bored one out to 24mm, and an inlet manifold, 200 slide/atomiser, bolted to an RT225, with a GT 62/110 crank, and puffing through a scootopia clubman . . . . not revvy, not particularly 'fast' but pulls like a train, 2 up (17/47 with a 150 box) and will run happily at very low revs. 60 mpg as well. my idea was a PX200 seems to work well on a 24mm so why do you need such big petrol guzzling carbs.
